Nelssy was born in Colombia and moved to the U.S. when she was just a little over a year old. She launched her career in Orange County where she was remarkably successful in Advertising as the Director of Broadcast Production at one of the top five advertising agencies in the country. She ended that career when she decided to take a sabbatical to raise her two children as a stay-at-home mother. 6 years ago, Nelssy moved to San Diego and wanted to better serve the community by utilizing her bilingual skills in Spanish and English.

Having experienced the loss of 4 family members within 3 years she explored an opportunity in the funeral & cemetery industry. Nelssy’s passion to help people through one of the most difficult days in their lives are evident in all that she does. Through her own experiences, she not only understands what families are going through, but also understands the value in being prepared for the inevitable. She joined East County Mortuary as a Funeral Arranger, and also serves as a licensed Community Service Counselor to help families pre-arrange for their services in hopes that they could alleviate both the emotional & financial burdens that come with a loss.
